Ben Purinton is a research scientist at UW, and formerly a PhD and PostDoc within the Remote Sensing and Earth Surface Processes research group at the University of Potsdam in Germany. Ben is now living in sub-arctic Nome, Alaska and keeping a foot in science along with other programming, web development, and mapping projects. Ben’s background is in remote sensing and geomorphology, and he is currently learning a lot about the cryosphere. Ben is investigating improvements to stereo processing pipelines of high resolution optical satellite images.
